Village of Dovje

Dovje is a picturesque Alpine village located in the northwestern part of Slovenia, near the small town of Mojstrana and at the foot of the majestic Karavanke Mountains. It is part of the municipality of Kranjska Gora and serves as an ideal starting point for exploring the Julian Alps, especially Triglav National Park. Situated at an elevation of approximately 700 meters, the village is surrounded by mountain pastures, forests, and stunning views of the surrounding peaks.

Dovje is known for its well-preserved traditional Alpine architecture, with old farmhouses that retain the authentic charm of mountain life. The village also boasts a rich cultural and historical heritage. It is notably the birthplace of Jakob Aljaž, a prominent Slovenian priest, mountaineer, and composer, best known for erecting the iconic Aljaž Tower on the summit of Mount Triglav.
